Jason Scotland's goal just before half-time was enough to give Swansea a deserved victory over Plymouth in their Coca-Cola Championship clash at Home Park.
The Swans dominated the first half and Scotland latched onto Darren Pratley's lofted pass before smashing them in front two minutes before the break.
Plymouth were unlucky to see a Marcel Seip goal ruled out just after the restart but Swansea continued to create the better chances and were good value for the win.
Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock made one change to the side that lost 2-0 at Reading last weekend with Steven MacLean replacing Jamie Mackie up front.
There was also one change to the Swansea line-up from their win over Nottingham Forest as Angel Rangel came in for Matty Collins at the back.
Swansea started well and nearly capitalised on a mistake at the back when Plymouth gave away possession and the ball fell to Pratley, but his drive from the edge of the area was tipped over by Stack.
The home side responded and summer signing Jason Puncheon fired a left-foot shot over the bar.
The visitors continued to exert pressure on the Plymouth goal and Ferrie Bodde's free-kick was pushed away by Stack before Garry Monk dragged a shot wide.
Stack was by far the busier of the two goalkeepers and had to be alert again minutes later to push Mark Gower's shot around the post.
At the other end Swansea failed to deal with Rory Fallon's corner and Marcel Seip ghosted in unmarked at the far post but was unable to connect properly.
Swansea's industrious play deserved a goal and they went ahead moments before the break when Pratley's ball found Scotland and he finished.
Plymouth thought they were level five minutes into the second half when Seip headed in Fallon's corner but the referee harshly ruled the goal out for a foul on Swansea goalkeeper Dorus De Vries.
Swansea always looked dangerous going forward and Stack did well to stop Rangel's cutback with his feet after the Spaniard had got to the byline.
Bodde also fired an effort over the bar from the edge of the area when he should have done better.
With 20 minutes remaining, Stack prevented Swansea tightening their grip on the game when he came out smartly to block Pratley's shot.
Despite bringing on Mackie and Jermaine Easter in a bid to force an equaliser, Plymouth were devoid of ideas.
Openings were few and far between for the Pilgrims and Easter blazed well over before Mackie's shot was easily gathered by De Vries.
