TORRES SET FOR ATLETICO RETURN

Torres - set to return to the Calderon.

Fernando Torres will return to Atletico Madrid with Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Reds have been drawn in Group D along with the Spanish side, Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven and French aces Marseille.

Rafa Benitez's side will be hoping to improve on last season's semi-final appearance where they were beaten by Barclays Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry expects a special atmosphere when the Reds clash with Atletico.

"With our Spanish contingent that will be a couple of very big games," he said.

"They are all fairly close by so there are no challenging trips."

Marseille coach Eric Gerets believes the group is wide open after seeing his team given one of hardest draws possible, but says Liverpool must start favourites.

The French side won 1-0 at Anfield in last season's group stages, but were hammered 4-0 at the Stade Velodrome in the return fixture.

OM beat Norwegian champions Brann Bergen 3-1 on aggregate in the third qualifying round to reach this season's group stages.

"From the outset, Liverpool are favourites in the pool.

"But I think Atletico are just as strong as Liverpool. And Eindhoven are going to easily win their league so we mustn't underestimate this team either.

"If we qualify, we will certainly be euphoric and we are going to enjoy ourselves."
