Brunt - looking forward to facing Scots.
Chris Brunt has already shown Scotland what a dead-ball specialist he is at under-21 level.
Now he is keen to take those skills onto the senior stage when Northern Ireland arrive at Hampden for a friendly on Wednesday.
It was back in 2005 at the Oval, Belfast, that Brunt unleashed a 25-yard piledriver and Northern Ireland's youngsters went on to record a fine 2-1 victory.
Brunt then moved on from Sheffield Wednesday to West Brom, and helped his new team gain promotion to the Premier League in his first season.
He looks set to start against the Scots and renew old rivalries in a warm-up match ahead of Northern Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Slovakia in Bratislava next month.
Brunt said: "It is important for the squad to get a game under our belts before the qualifiers.
"We are relishing the challenge of playing another home nation as we need to improve our away form.
"We are getting there though. In the Euro 2008 qualifiers we drew against Denmark and Sweden and only lost narrowly to Spain.
"But if we were to take anything from the Scotland game it would give us a boost going into the match with Slovakia."
Brunt scored the goal which saw West Brom promoted and they won widespread applause for the way manager Tony Mowbray set up his teams.
Albion were viewed as the most attractive of the three sides that came up, shading Stoke and Hull.
While they got off to a losing start at Arsenal on Saturday, Brunt believes they will not lose their focus or their style in the coming weeks and months.
He said: "I have been taught since I was a kid to pass and play football on the ground.
"So it is enjoyable at West Brom as the manager insists on an attacking game and I do not think that will change.
"We had to work hard for promotion as the Championship is a long slog but we got our rewards.
"This year is going to be tough for everyone at the club as we have not played in the Premier League before.
"But hopefully we can do well because this is where we deserve to be after last season."
