COLLISON OUT OF WALES MATCH

Collison - knee ligament injury.

West Ham midfielder Jack Collison will miss Wales Under-21's UEFA championship qualifying match next week.

The 19-year-old has withdrawn from the squad to play Romania at Wrexham next Wednesday with a medial knee ligament injury.

If Wales win they will ensure a place in November's play-offs for a place in the Sweden finals next summer.

Boss Brian Flynn trimmed an initial 28-strong squad to 18 for the game.

Lewin Nyatanga and Joe Jacobson are also out injured, while Chelsea teenage goalkeeper Rhys Taylor has been elevated to the senior squad which will hopefully play Georgia the same night at Swansea, providing the fixture goes ahead.

Flynn has also omitted Cardiff's Jonathan Brown and Leicester pair Nick Adams and Andy King, along with Sheffield United's David Cotterill and Oldham's Craig Davies. The later pair could be added to the senior squad at a later date.

Squad: Christian Ribeiro (Bristol C) and Rhys Wiggins (Crystal Palace)are also left out. Flynn has added Southampton's Lloyd James to the squad.

Revised squad: Fon Williams (Stockport), Hennessey (Wolves), Blake (Cardiff), Gunter (Spurs), M.Williams (Wrexham), R Williams (Middlesbrough), Bale (Spurs), Eardley (Oldham), Basey (Charlton), James(Southampton), Edwards (Wolves), Ledley (Cardiff), Ramsey (Arsenal), MacDonald (Swansea), Bradley (Walsall), Vokes (Wolves), Church (Reading), Evans (Man City).
