VILLANUEVA DENIES REPORTS

Villanueva - happy at Rovers.

Carlos Villanueva has expressed his disappointment after reports suggested he had not settled at Blackburn.

The story was prompted by an article in a South American newspaper in which Villanueva was quoted as saying that he was 'annoyed' by manager Paul Ince and had struggled to adapt to life in England.

Villanueva's agent Cristian Otero later insisted that his client had not criticised Ince.

And the Chilean forward, who moved to Ewood Park over the summer, has now stressed as well that there is no truth in the reports.

Villanueva has also spoken of how content he is at Blackburn and has thanked everyone at the club for their help over the last couple of months.

"What was reported is simply not true. I feel very let down," he told Blackburn's official webite.

"I am very happy at Blackburn and everything about my move is working out well.

"Blackburn is a special club and the people have helped me settle in by assisting me to find somewhere to live and organising English lessons for me.

"That is why I am so disappointed with the reports.

"I have spoken to the manager to explain and he understands."
