BOLTON AGREE SHITTU FEE

Shittu - looks set to join Bolton.

Bolton have agreed a fee with Watford for defender Danny Shittu.

The Nigeria international has been linked with a move to the Trotters following the collapse of his switch to Rangers.

Watford accepted an offer from the Old Firm giants last month, but Shittu was unable to settle on personal terms with the Gers.

The defender will be hoping his discussions with Bolton prove to be less troublesome after the clubs agreed a fee in the region of £2million.

Shittu will become Gary Megson's third signing of the summer, if he reaches a deal with the Premier League club.

Megson has already signed Johan Elmander and Fabrice Muamba, and will look for Shittu to add competition to his defence, with doubts surrounding the future of Abdoulaye Meite.

Shittu has made 75 appearances for Watford since moving to Vicarage Road two years ago from QPR..
