ROBIN RED REST FOR EVERTON CLASH

van Persie - won't feature.

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will miss Sunday's Premier League clash with Everton.

Van Persie is being rested as a precautionary measure after sustaining a slight thigh injury in the 6-2 thrashing of Derby.

Midfielder Mathieu Flamini could return on the bench after recovering from his ankle problem but winger Alexander Hleb is suspended.

Tomas Rosicky (knee) and Eduardo (broken leg) remain sidelined.

Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta will not play again this season after finally admitting defeat in his battle with stomach and groin injuries.

The Spaniard was a second-half substitute in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa having previously spent time in his homeland having treatment.

However, he returned to training this week and reported further problems so manager David Moyes has written Arteta off for the Toffees' remaining Barclays Premier League matches.

Ahead of the trip to the Emirates Stadium there are slight doubts over striker Andrew Johnson (calf) and midfielder Steven Pienaar (knee).
