Bullard - linked with Wigan.
Wigan boss Steve Bruce has refused to be drawn on his interest in Fulham's Jimmy Bullard.
The Latics are thought to have made an enquiry to Fulham about Bullard as they look to lure him back to the JJB Stadium.
Bullard has admitted he is flattered to be linked with a move back to his old club, but revealed he was in talks over a new deal at Craven Cottage.
Bruce admitted he is an admirer of Bullard, but was remaining coy on whether or not he was hoping to sign him before the close of the transfer window.
When asked about his interest in Bullard, Bruce told Sky Sports News: "When people are contracted I'd hate people talking about my players so I am not going to mention individuals, but he is a very good player."
Bruce has been boosted by the news that Paul Scharner has agreed a new deal at the club and the Latics chief is delighted he has been able to keep his best players at the JJB.
"Well the good news is that all the players we ended the season with we have kept hold of them, apart from Benty [Marcus Bent] who has moved on.
"The vast of majority of the squad is still here and that is of vital important to us to keep our better players."
