Southgate - "pleased with what we have got".
Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate has admitted he is in no rush to make any more new signings to his squad.
Southgate has been relatively quiet in the transfer market this summer, only bringing in young duo Didier Digard and Marvin Emnes.
The likes of George Boateng, Lee Cattermole, Lee Dong-Gook, Gaizka Mendieta, Fabio Rochemback and Mark Schwarzer have all left The Riverside meaning Southgate's options have been trimmed.
Southgate says he would like to add more competition for places in his squad, but is happy to go into the season with what he has at his disposal.
"There are certain areas on the field we would like a bit more competition, so it is possible we might do something like that (on the transfer front)," Southgate told Sky Sports News.
"We are pleased with what we have got and if we go into the season with the squad we have got we expect to have a good season.
"We are young, but that is giving us a lot of energy and a lot enthusiasm and the players' attitude to the first three weeks of pre-season has been fantastic."
