Ashley - looking forward to new campaign.

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley says he is looking forward to the new season and is 'excited' by Kevin Keegan's side.

Ashley took control of the Magpies last summer, but there have been constant rumours he is looking to sell up.

Talks have taken place with the Profitable Group, although the discussions are aimed at promoting Newcastle in the Far East.

And Ashley has moved to end the uncertainty about his commitment to the club by expressing his optimism for the coming campaign.

"I'm really looking forward to the season," Ashley told the Daily Mirror.

"I'm excited by Kevin, seeing the team play, all of it.

"We're going to have fun."
