Corluka - Spurs link.

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has refused to comment on intense speculation linking Vedran Corluka with a £7million move to Tottenham.

There have been reports that Corluka could become a Spurs player within days, but Hughes is refusing to confirm whether there has been a bid for the 22-year-old.

The former Blackburn boss is unsurprised that Corluka's name is being touted around due to his undoubted quality, although he knows nothing of any deal to take him to White Hart Lane.

"There will always be speculation about good players and Vedran is a very good player," Hughes told the Manchester Evening News.

"He had an exceptional European Championships. I can't elaborate any more because I don't know a great deal about it. The news surprised me this morning."
