Manchester United have taken another giant stride towards the title and a win at Wigan on the final day will give them the title again. Nani's red card was the only blot on another excellent afternoon for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

28 mins: GOAL ASHTON. A stunning goal from West Ham. Ashton watches a loose header by Brown drop into the box and with his back to goal holds off Rio Ferdinand and beats Van der Sar with a spectacular overhead kick. 3-1.

27 mins: West Ham look shell-shocked as they pass the ball around at the back.

26 mins: GOAL TEVEZ. A fantastic goal from the West Ham old boy. The Argentine cuts inside from the right, steadies himself and thumps an unstoppable 25-yard shot high into the net which gives Green no chance. 3-0 to Man Utd and this could be a rout.

24 mins: GOAL RONALDO. Ronaldo grabs his 30th Premier League goal of the season with the help of his thigh and some comical West Ham defending. Hargreaves' cross from the right is misjudged by the West Ham defence, Green is stranded on his line and Ronaldo, reacting to the failed clearance, thighs it into the goal from four yards out.

23 mins: Hargreaves shows good skill down the right. The ball is played across the other side of the field and back again before Nani's cross is cleared.

22 mins: Park gets his body in front of McCartney and wins Man Utd a free-kick on halfway.

21 mins: Ronaldo scoops a clever ball into the area but Nani can't get on the end of it.

21 mins: The early possession stats show Man Utd 62% West Ham 38%. Back on the pitch, Ashton is flagged for offside.

20 mins: Ronaldo bursts in the box but Parker gets back to make an excellent tackle and concede a corner which is cleared by Zamora.

19 mins: Park finds Tevez on the right. His cross-shot beats Green but Tomkins gets back to clear the ball away. The Hammers break and Dean Ashton's ambitious effort is way over the bar.

18 mins: Man Utd win a corner but it's cleared by Alan Curbishley's men.

17 mins: A lucky escape for the hosts. Brown pats away a bouncing ball with his hand in the Man Utd box but is adjudged to have been pushed by Zamora before that.

13 mins: John Pantsil shows good composure to chest a cross back to his goalkeeper as the hosts drive forward again.

13 mins: Another poor clearance from Green and the Hammers are relieved that Luis Boa Morte isn't penalised for a sturdy tackle on Nani.

12 mins: Man Utd have won 23 of the 27 Premier League games in which they've taken the lead. They's only lost once... away to West Ham.

11 mins: Zamora gets space in the box but can't control the ball and a promising opening goes begging.

10 mins: Owen Hargreaves crosses from the right as West Ham are outnumbered and James Tomkins has to make a fine headed clearance in the six-yard box.

2 mins: Ex-Hammer Carlos Tevez wins a corner for the home side. Nani's ball in is cleared back to him and he wins a second from the follow-up cross.

1 min: Bobby Zamora makes an early break down the right but can only pick out Man Utd goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar.

Pre-match:

Sir Alex Ferguson takes no chances with Wayne Rooney as the Manchester United striker is not even considered for a place on the bench against West Ham this afternoon.

Rooney has been troubled by a hip injury and, like Nemanja Vidic, is left out as Ferguson sticks with the same starting line-up which sealed the famous win over Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final.

Victory for the hosts, coupled with a defeat for Chelsea at Newcastle on Monday, would be enough to clinch the title and West Ham, with 13 players injured, including Freddie Ljungberg, are not expected to put up much resistance.
