Grays 2 West Ham XI 1

Bowyer - made his West Ham comeback.

Lee Bowyer made his comeback for West Ham on Saturday, but could not prevent a youthful-looking Hammers from slipping to defeat.

Zavon Hinds made it five goals in five matches with his first-half penalty, although Kevin Keen's Hammers XI lost 2-1 at Grays Athletic.

Shortly before half-time West Ham forged ahead when 19-year-old Hinds netted after he was originally brought down in the penalty area.

However, the lead failed to last until the interval as Ishmael Welsh equalised for the home side with a neat finish.

Just when it looked like the contest might finish all-square, Charlie Ide slid the ball home from close range to condemn West Ham to defeat.
