Thomas - is on trial at Wigan.
Wigan manager Steve Bruce is weighing up the prospect of offering French striker Joel Thomas a contract.
The 21-year-old is currently on trail following his release from German side Kaiserslautern at the end of last season.
Following a 20-minute run-out in Tuesday night's 1-0 friendly win at Hibernian, Bruce said: "He's a boy trying to earn a contract with us.
"He's been training with us for four or five days and we're impressed with what we've seen.
"Last night he was a bit over-zealous on the pitch, but his enthusiasm was terrific and it's better that way than the other."
Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, meanwhile, is due back in training on Monday after a scan on a back injury showed nothing serious.
