McLeish - could be given funds.
Birmingham co-owner David Sullivan has revealed the club's board will provide Alex McLeish with funds to strengthen his squad in January if he feels it is necessary to do so.
McLeish has watched his side storm to the top of the Championship table in solid yet unspectacular circumstances after the first 10 games of the season.
The Blues boss is believed to be tracking several players with a view to loan deals or permanent moves in the transfer window, and Sullivan insists money will be made available if the right players come up for grabs in the new year.
"If players came along who would improve the team we would try to find the money," he said in the Birmingham Mail. "We are looking at players all the time and I'm sure there'll be one or two things we'll consider for January.
"Up to now, 10 games down the line, we have done alright. We are aware the season is 46 games long and the team is not yet fully firing, they're not bringing what we believe they can bring.
"When they do, I think they could absolutely destroy some of our opponents. But that is not to say we wouldn't listen to what Alex might have in mind in January."
