Bruce - linked with Burnley.

Owen Coyle has played down reports linking Burnley with moves for Latvian winger Aleksandr Solovjovs and Ipswich defender Alex Bruce.

Solovjovs featured in friendlies against Glentoran and Bradford during a trial spell with the Clarets before rejoining club side JFK Olimps Riga.

Coyle revealed negotiations have hit a stumbling block, with the two clubs failing to agree on a fee.

He said: "Alexsandr obviously went back to his club and they are looking for a decent sum of money, which at this moment in time is above what we would be looking to pay.

"I won't say the door is closed, but we won't be doing anything imminent on that one at the moment."

Coyle dismissed speculation linking him with Bruce but added: "I have one or two things out there just now. If they come back then we will move quickly on them."
