JONES HAS MONEY TO SPEND

Ridsdale - prepared to stump up cash.

Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale claims the Bluebirds have the funds available to back manager Dave Jones in the transfer market.

The club is searching for a striker as they struggle to find the right combination up front but Ridsdale claims his side do not have to sell before they can buy.

He told the Western Mail: "I have made it clear that every player has his price.

"We showed initiative in August when we had a bid of £6million for Joe Ledley and £4million for Roger Johnson but we turned both down - two years ago we would not have been able to do that.

"If we need to strengthen I would expect the manager to tell me who he wants and at that stage I would expect us to make the money available.

"I also don't rule out loan deals before January if it's a player Dave Jones believes will go straight into the first team."
