Commons - linked with Derby.
Nottingham Forest manager Colin Calderwood hopes to tie Kris Commons down to a new deal at the City Ground "very, very quickly".
The Reds winger will be a free agent when his current deal expires in June and speculation has been rife he could be set to leave the club, with Forest's bitter rivals Derby reported to be interested.
Yet Calderwood is confident he can persuade local lad Commons to extend his stay following their promotion to the Championship.
He told the club's official website: "We want to get Kris signed up and get it done as quickly as possible. There will be other suitors, he's entitled to speak to other clubs very shortly and the possibility is they might be of interest to him.
"But I know where his heart lies, especially in the east midlands. He always said to me that he wanted to be in a Championship team and ideally with Nottingham Forest. We've given ourselves the best chance of capturing him and we'll try and tie him down very, very quickly."
