Derby County

Not Even Fit To Wash The Shirt...

What a complete and utter disgrace this team really is.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago for those who were still interested in this season that the money these players make for not giving a toss is quite simply astounding. Those players that put on a Rams' shirt this season ought to think themselves an embarrassment not just to us but to themselves. Seeing Darren Moore flop around on the deck after the second or third goal went in was just laughable and you have to laugh because that is our 'player of the season'. No wonder he didn't want to come out and collect it, hence passing it on to the fans.

The team is a joke and what is worse is that they simply just don't care, Kenny Miller is as good as gone in my opinion, he looks like he cares more about complaining to the referee about how 'unfair' everything is then actually kicking the ball. Hossam Ghaly must be on some kind of hallucinogenic drugs if he thinks a Premier League team are going to want him after this season, you might see this statement a lot during this review but to hear him say he would come back to Derby if no other Premier League side wanted him again made me feel ill. Three good passes and the ability to take one player on and lose the ball, walk around in a huff for another half hour is not what I would call Premier League quality. Good riddance is all I have to say Hossam and I hope Paul Jewell doesn't even give you the time of day.

These players earn at a bare minimum 10 grand a week (with deduction now that we have been relegated) and yet they look like a decent Sunday league side would smash them into the ground. How Darren Moore, a supposed professional footballer, can't pass the ball along the ground to a player three feet in front of him I just simply don't know. Do these players even practice? Ask Robert Earnshaw about that one. Speaking of which I feel sorry for whichever club takes him off our hands, our 'fox in the box', give me a break.

Then there is our merry-go-round of midfielders and not one of them can legitimately claim to have had more then one good game this season. David Jones forgets what team he is on as he watches players just run past him unchallenged. Robbie Savage is so bull-headed in trying to prove a point, he is out of breath after 20 seconds and Eddie Lewis, well if him, Jay McEverly or Matt Oakley (when he was here) beat the first man from a cross this season I simply haven't seen it.

Claude Davis, he can at least tackle and run but you ask him to the head the ball and he runs directly underneath it and achieves possibly the most uncoordinated jump in history to head the ball directly upwards, flailing his arms around like a mad man. There are many poor defenders at Derby and with the exception of Tyrone Mears, not one of them has even tried to work hard this season but Dean Leacock however takes the award for the laziest footballer I have ever seen, he looks like he cares more about that stupid bandanna falling off his head as he does any player scoring...trust me Dean, it's not your hair that you need to be worried about letting you down, it's your pride, talent and enthusiasm for this game.

I could go on like this all day, Stephen Pearson doesn't understand how to kick a ball IN FRONT of someone, Craig Fagan and Steven Bywater...or by the name me and my friends have given them, Dumb and Dumber, leave me thinking oh my god, how do you dress yourself without help (who knows with the money they make they probably do pay someone to dress them)...the list just goes on and on.

But hey? What do they care? They don't need to listen to the fans, Robbie Savage can cruise home in his brand new Mercedes we bought to see him and the rest of Derby Clown Football Club put on a 'show'. The words 'not fit to wear the shirt' don't even do it justice, these players are simply not fit to be in the game and they are everything that is wrong with it. I will not shed a tear for any single player who leaves Derby County during this break and if any of them had any kind of pride in themselves they would come out and apologise for their performances this season.

Paul Jewell's job really starts from here, like he has said himself wholesale changes are needed and half those players (I'd say more but there you go) need to be out of this club and the sooner they are the better. To the people that expect to go up next season, do not hope for miracles because right now our players certainly aren't going to.

So with all that said, congratulations to the squad of Derby County 2007/2008, you really earned your money this season, I hope you're proud of yourselves...
