Boateng - hoping to cause upset.

Midfielder George Boateng believes Hull could pull off a shock at Arsenal on Saturday evening - but they must "work extremely hard".

Despite their bright start to life in the Barclays Premier League, the Tigers still face a daunting task as they take on Arsene Wenger's in-form side at the Emirates Stadium.

Few observers give them much hope of upsetting the side that began the weekend as league leaders, but Boateng claims his team-mates have the spirit to succeed.

The Dutchman, who looks set to be restored in midfield, said: "I know a lot of journalists won't fancy Hull City going to Arsenal.

"But I don't think Hull City is going there with no chance at all. We are going there to get something out of the game.

"We are not playing an Arsenal side that is invincible or that is not beatable. Arsenal have already lost at Fulham. We beat Fulham.

"It is not how good they are, it is the best team on the day that is going to win.

"You have to be prepared to work extremely hard.

"This is a team that if you let them play the way the way they want to play, you will find it difficult to stop them.

"But if you are willing to work hard, close them down and play football when you have the ball, you have a chance to win."

Boateng was seen as one of Hull's key summer signings when he arrived from Middlesbrough for £1million but a thigh injury has so far limited him to two appearances.

The 33-year-old made his debut in the season-opening win over Fulham but was then sidelined until coming off the bench late in last week's 2-2 draw against Everton at the KC Stadium.

He now hopes his injury problems are behind him and he can help Hull build on their solid start of eight points from five games.

"It is hard because I worked extremely hard in pre-season to get match-fit," he said. "It felt great but being out for four to five weeks put me back to where I was in pre-season.

"In the last two weeks I have been doing double sessions and I am happy that I can say I am fully fit.

"Previously at Middlesbrough when I got an injury I didn't take enough time to heal.

"Sometimes it did cause me not to perform at my best and I have learned that now. It has taken longer than I expected but I am 100% fit now."
