SAINTS MAKE SMITH SWOOP

Southampton manager Jan Poortvliet has completed the signing of winger Ryan Smith on a three-month loan deal from Millwall.

The former Arsenal youngster, 22, has hardly figured for the League One Lions this season and recently had an unsuccessful trial with Dutch side NEC Nijmegen.

Smith, who has also had spells at Leicester and Derby, is set to go straight into the Saints squad for their Championship clash at Coventry on Saturday.
