Saints fans - little to cheer.
Southampton have ruled out price cuts at St Mary's, despite suffering their worst league attendances at the new stadium.
The last Championship home game - a 2-0 win against Norwich - drew a crowd of 14,480, less than half the stadium capacity.
David Luker, head of supporter services at the south-coast club, told the Daily Echo that reducing prices was not the answer.
"Given our well-documented financial situation, we need to generate extra revenue," he said.
"The average adult ticket price is £24. By reducing this to £18, we would have to sell an additional 33 per cent of tickets to make the bottom line the same.
"This would be a huge gamble for the club at the current time."
Luker also stated that reducing prices would remove the benefit of having a season ticket. He added: "This would not be a popular move."
